Each larch wood clad cabin has a compost toilet adjacent, the Ty Bach (Little House). These work by separating the solids from the liquid and storing them separately. They are flushed using pine shavings which keep the Ty Bach’s freshly fragrant with a natural pine scent. The waste material is removed on a regular basis to be further composted down and used as fertiliser on our trees. So we ask that our guests give generously!!!
The two cabins are served by an electric shower housed in its own wooden hut located nearby.
The River Henryd
The Cabins Conwy are two highly insulated wood cabins, built from sustainable, local timber. They are located within 3 acres of previously intensely farmed Welsh meadow, known as Cae Richard. The River Henryd runs along the western edge of the site; and although more a stream than river it provides enough small fish and eels to keep our resident otter happy.
Since buying the land 10 years ago we have allowed it to regenerate into a more natural environment. No artificial fertilisers have been added to the soils or chemical weed killers used in this time. Instead we have started using permaculture techniques to allow the soils to naturally regenerate and to provide a variety of different environments, such as natural woodland, to develop and subsequently to dramatically increase the plant and animal biodiversity.

Some of the beautiful flowers around the field.
There is also free on site car parking.
Each cabin has its own fire pit/BBQ for al fresco dining or for the telling of exaggerated tales! We will provide a free sack of logs to get you going and you can purchase more logs on site.
